Welcome to a scrapbook of

clippings, photos and rememberances of

Scotlands very own lass - Deborah Kerr

Movie Star Love is a mysterious thing. One of the reasons I enjoy collecting old movie star scrapbooks - and creating some of my own - is that each one ia a diary of a particular moment in a person ( a teenaged boy's ) life, and the images that captivated him ( or herhaps her ).

I recently purchased one that was filled entirely with photographs of Deborah Kerr. They are mostly cut out of fan magazines, glamour portraits and candids, many with her husbands Anthony Bartley and Peter Viertel and her two daughters Melanie and Francesca. The pictures were clipped out in the early 50s, 60s and early 70s before and after Deborah's greatest films, including most notably, The King and I. The photographs document her work in Hatter's Castle, The Adventuress, The Hucksters, Black Narcissus, If Winter Comes, Edward, My Son, From Here to Eternity, An Affair to Remember, The Innocents, The Sundowners. What was it about Deborah Kerr that made one person fill up a now crumbling paper album with page after page of her lovely images and film career.

There are a surprising number of Deborah Kerr fan sites on the internet, and many of them contain biographical information and filmographies. And on this website I tried to select photos from my personal collection and a select few from elsewhere on the internet. All credits are listed as follows . . . .
